La Máquina Real (Castilla-La Mancha)
The old Lope de Vega, far removed from commercial playwriting, immerses us with this brief musical drama, composed in the style of Rinuccini’s Dafne, in an archaic world where he plays with the mythological and the human to achieve love between nymphs and shepherds. The lack of the original musical score has led composer Carlos G. Cuéllar to rewrite a new one, inspired by the works of great Florentine humanists such as G. Caccini, J. Peri, A. Piccinini, V. Galilei.
The Máquina Real bring us to the baroque period to enjoy this unknown gem of literature, not only as a historical-artistic curiosity, but for the sweetness and beauty of its verses, its music, its set with a máquina real (royal machine)…
