While men engage in politics and win wars, women try to circumvent the sexual repression imposed by Christian morality and lineage. With great irony, Joanot Martorell places his protagonist, Tirant lo Blanc, between these two worlds, filling his body and soul with wounds: the wounds of war and the, perhaps more painful, wounds of love.
The great Valencian and universal classic of the 15th century (the first modern novel according to many scholars) is hereby presented in a production that discards historical recreation, that establishes a dialogue with the present by means of language and physical theater.
