Dos tablas y una pasión is theatre at its height. The prime substance: only passion... And a few panel! (and sometimes with no panels)
The sentence is to be attributed to Lope de Vega and to Cervantes as well... But who coined it? The two biggest authors swamped theatre with inventiveness and timeless poetry. Both of them take part in this play, together with other important characters that dance in circle, like heavenly bodies in the firmament. Love is the nuclear centre of this dance. The dancing bodies, besides Shakespeare and Lope, are San Juan de la Cruz, Teresa de Jesús, Cervantes, Quevedo, Fray Luís de León, San Francisco de Asís y "la sangre de una rosa"... the trembling of its petals drove me towards this show with the music of the violin played by my friend Javier Alejano.
Valle Inclán used to say that when the boat enters into the port, the sailors forget the job of sail and the navigation.
Love is the port. Forgetting the job once and for all is an old aspiration, the aim of a real comedian: do not work, forget the job, just play and dance around these texts.
