Céfalo y Pocris, lejos de ser una antigualla, se convierte en una apuesta de modernidad, una exposición ridícula y grotesca sobre el poder entre el hombre y la mujer, entre rey y vasallos.

La historia se desarrolla mediante un simple juego escénico de donde nacen las acciones burlescas con fingimientos y posturas directas, con guiños de inteligencia entre los personajes y los espectadores. De este modo, escenario y teatro, actores y espectadores, participan de un mismo juego cómico, haciendo que la crítica furtiva y grotesca que propone Calderón se convierta en una perspectiva lúdica y actual aparentemente aséptica, que sirve para celebrar un fastuoso y bello despliegue de artificio teatral e ingenio literario.

Céfalo y Pocris, far from being an antique of exclusive interest to the history of Theatre, it becomes a bet of modernity, a ridiculous and grotesque exposition on the power between men and women … between the king and his vassals.

The story is developed through a simple scenic game where burlesque actions are born with pretences and direct postures, with winks of intelligence between the characters and then transferred to the spectators, so that the stage and the theatre, the actors and the spectators participate in the same comic game, turning Calderón’s furtive and grotesque criticism into a playful and current perspective, apparently aseptic, that helps to celebrate a lavish and beautiful display of theatrical artifice and literary ingenuity.
