The sense of humor in the Golden Age

For third consecutive year, the International Festival of Classical Theater of Almagro continued its commitment to scenic creation developing ‘Ensayando un clásico’ project, dedicated on this occasion to the sense of humor in the Spanish Golden Age.

In Baroque theater’s works it can be found tragedy and the comedy mixed. However, the jokes, the ingenious characters comments, the arguments or the burlesque comedies delirium shine brightly. On this occasion, the humorous ingenuity of our authors of the Golden Age was revealed and, of course, the humor and laughter always need. Maybe, today more than ever.
